Email Read Notification is a great feature you can add to a Basic Subscription for a small fee. When you send a message to another OurTime member, Email Read Notification lets you know whether your Message has been opened by the recipient. If you purchased a Premium Subscription, this feature was included in your subscription price.
How do I add this service to my subscription?
If you don't have a subscription yet, simply subscribe! You’ll have the option to select a package with this feature. If you’d like to add Email Read Notification to an existing subscription, log in to your OurTime account and follow these steps:
- Click on the “Power up” button in the navigation bar at the top of the page.
- Locate Email Read Alerts, and click on “Buy Now.”
- Follow the prompts to add the feature to your current subscription.
How do I know if my Messages have been opened?
Go to your Inbox and locate the correct Message thread. If your Message has not been opened yet, then you’ll see “Delivered” in grey text underneath the Message. (When you're using the OurTime app, it will say "Sent" instead of "Delivered.") This means your Message was successfully sent, but the recipient hasn’t opened it. If your Message has been opened, you’ll see “Read” in grey text underneath the Message with a timestamp.
If you’re accessing OurTime with a browser, you’ll only see the Email Read Notification on your most recent sent Message in each thread. If you’re using the OurTime app, you’ll see an Email Read Notification status on every sent Message.
Once you purchase Email Read Notification, it will show up on all of the Message threads in your Inbox. Email Read Notification applies to the Messages you previously sent, not just the new Messages you send after adding the feature.
Will other OurTime members know when I have opened a Message from them?
If the member who sent the Message has Email Read Notification, then they will know when you open their Messages. There isn’t a way to tell whether another member has Email Read Notification, unless they tell you.
Message Read Confirmation is a premium feature that shows you when an email you sent has been read. This feature is included in premium accounts.
Want to see if your message has been read?
From the left menu, under Inbox, click on the message thread you would like to see. If your message has been read, the envelope icon next to the message will have a green checkmark. If you don't see the checkmark, the message hasn't been read yet.
