ConnectMe - Getting Started
To begin, make sure you have your phone or mobile handset on-hand, and meet all of the requirements.
You can add ConnectMe by initiating a call from your match's profile or by using the ConnectMe link in the left menu on your home page. This will guide you through the subscription and payment process, which includes making a quick call to your phone for verification purposes and confirming whether your phone is text enabled.
How to make a call
Just click the ConnectMe button on your match's profile page to send a request. Once they accept your request to talk, a phone number will be generated that either of you can use to reach the other.
How to answer a call
When your phone rings, answer the call, and then accept or decline it using our automated system. If you don't answer, we'll decline the call for you and your match can leave a voicemail.
How to check voicemail
Voicemails are stored in the ConnectMe system and never routed to your personal voicemail. To listen to your messages, you must sign into your account and then click ConnectMe from the left menu on your home page. Select the Voicemail tab and then locate and click the play button next to the profile of the person that left you a message. Your messages are stored for 30 days.
How to text
If both you and your match have an SMS text-enabled phone, you'll have the option to send text messages. It's no different than texting your friends except you'll use the ConnectMe phone number. Texts are only stored on your phone, and not in our system. Remember, standard text messaging rates through your carrier may apply.
How to organize your contacts
If you're using a mobile phone or a landline with contact features, you can organize your ConnectMe numbers the same way you organize your contact list now. A unique number is assigned to every connection, making it easy to save and identify them.
How to remove a connection
If you want to stop communicating with someone, you can remove (delete) their connection by clicking ConnectMe from the left menu on your home page, and then select Contacts. Locate the member that you want to remove, and then click the X. You must confirm you want to remove the member completely from your connections.
